Volunteer at Lesnes Abbey Woods Forest Club on a Thursday

£0.00

Come and join us and get involved with Lesnes Abbey Forest Club volunteers. Support this local not for profit community organisation through a variety of volunteering opportunities.

The Forest Club is a way to be in the woodland throughout the year and learn skills to support woodland management and biodiversity. Take part supporting our workshop programme as a volunteer, that takes place on a Thursday, weekends and some evenings.

Learn rural crafts, work together for the benefit of nature and enjoy the simple pleasure of working outside together. Feel the joy of sharing a hot drink from the kettle on an open fire - simple pleasures.

We are creating a core group of volunteers to learn the foundation skills of green wood working and develop a range of ancient rural craft skills that compliment and support a healthy woodland environment.

If you take part, you will become familiar with sawing, cutting and splitting wood, using knives and axes and mastering the use of shave horses, spoon mules and pole lathes. Support the natural dye garden, learn to weave, cast metal, make furniture, the possibilities are endless, but we need the gift of your time.

This will all take place at our newly developed site called “The Clearing”. We meet at the gate of “The Clearing”.

Become a volunteer and advocate for the Forest Club and work with Creative Nature HQ, a not for profit organisation that supports this project, at a time when we are entering a new and exciting chapter for this group.

Check our Instagram for group activities and opportunities to get involved in the development of our new site!

By booking on this platform, you are giving us permission to place you on our volunteer register, where your contact details will be stored. We will then email you a link with the option to join the volunteer Whatsapp group. Alternatively you can contact us directly through Instagram. Please let us know if you would like to opt out of the register. Looking forward to meeting you soon.

The volunteer session runs every Thursday, 10am - 2pm.

Follow us on Instagram @lesnesabbeyforestclub for all updates, including rare cancellations of these Thursday sessions.
